Happy Shambhala!

On my way home after a delightful conversation at the local poutine shop, I passed two women.

I believe they were muslim.

They were wearing that thing.

You know.

Not that full one, but that other one. The one that’s pronounced that one way and spelled those other ways.

I’m not entirely sure why that’s significant, and I suppose that’s my point.

I have no idea if I should or should not be acknowledging these people.

In this instance, I split the difference and gave them a glance and a smile rather than a proper hello.

I’m somewhat ashamed of myself now.

I realize I only get one vote, but I’m casting it for greeting everyone properly and equally.

If I am correct in my understanding of our current calendar, Tom & Gary were supposed to release the dates for their Party Safari 2011: Strictly Business tour on Monday.

I’m still eagerly awaiting details on this event, but I can’t say that I blame them for missing their own deadline. Monday was a holiday in much of this country, and mine was packed full of far too many important things for me to update my own blog. But remember, it was a holiday.

It was a fine day, Monday.

There are certainly far worse places to spend an August than Canada. I would almost go so far as to guess all of them, but that would be unfairly presumptuous of me.

And Reno, Nevada is not without its charm, but I digress.

Instead of delving too deeply into my expectations for this DDP, I will simply observe that I expect to be there.

I have a boombox and a little gas money, if needed.

Also, a suit. Which, curiously enough, came from Reno.

Just how many business meetings, funerals and junior high graduations it attended before coming into my possession I cannot say. But I suspect it’s enjoying retirement.
